Picture1 Gerald Tan ( Founder & Managing Director)

Over 20 years in Offshore Energy & Renewable Energy Industry. He is technically qualified in both electrical power and mechanical engineering with an honors degree in Mechanical & Automotive engineering from the University of Leeds UK. He achieved top student and top project awards in his cohort with his pioneering works in aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics.

Gerald started his career as an Alternate Energy Engineer in ST Kinetics in 2000 with pioneering involvement in hydrogen fuel cells, ultra capacitors & EV/ Hybrid technology during his 2 year knowledge transfer attachment in Solectria Boston USA. He later spent his formative years with Siemens Power Generation serving regional roles in offshore power generation before an illustrative 10 year career in Global Marine Systems UK being involved in UK Round 1 Offshore Wind, London Array & pioneering Asia’s Offshore Windfarm Development. Gerald served various key management roles in China and Singapore as Asia BD Director of Global Marine Systems before founding G8 in 2015. He also heads G8 in technical development and registered global patents relating to offshore renewable systems and floating stability technologies.

 

Picture3 Martin Ng (Head of Business Development)

Martin is a highly experienced industry professional with more than 20 years business development track record in the offshore sector. Throughout his illustruous career, Martin had serve key roles in the global arena he has achieved strategic business establishments and projects in USA, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Brazil, South Africa and Papua New Guinea. He is presently heads and coordinate G8's sales team, applying his global network and sound management to spearhead expansion of G8's renewable energy business in the US & the African regions. 

Martin has professional qualifications in mechanical engineering and had served as a commissioned army officer in the Singapore Armed Forces. Prior entering into renewable energy industry, Martin served as Senior Manager in well-known ST Engineering Land Systems engaging in paramilitary platform and weapon system. He has proven track record on enabling stringent quality standards set by key projects with the Singapore defense authority while applying the excellence of project execution in the renewable energy industry.

 

 

Picture3 Gerald Yap ( Head of Finance & Investment)

Gerald holds Double Degrees in Accounting & Business Administration (Finance) from the Singapore Management University. He has a proven experience in helping the company plan, implement and secure funding for technology R&D & commercialization, overseas expansion and process automation. As a TUV-SUD Singapore Certified Management Consultant (SCMC) and recognized under Enterprise Singapore's Consultant Quality Initiative, he has successfully secured grant financing for two of G8’s flagship tech development (Sub-station & MTB) within a year.

In addition to years of track record in consulting for SMEs and start-ups, he has former experience in developing new business in the fields of Maritime and FinTech, having handled accounts with MNCs and governmental buyers, locally and regionally across Chinese-speaking marketing (Hong Kong, China and Taiwan). In 2021, he had successfully secured G8’s funding to set up operations in S-Korea for 1.5GW offshore wind developments.

 

Picture3 Pascal Cheon (Chief Operating Officer - G8 Korea)

Pascal is an industry veteran in the power generation industry having served more than 30 years in the power industry with an illustrative career as senior management in KEPCO ( Korean Electric Power Company). Pascal's background is in electrical power transmission and nuclear power, he later move on to renewable energy, namely offshore wind and floating solar industry to support the uptrend clean energy developments in South Korea. 

Pascal plays a key role within G8 towards the development of the North Asian market and provides a strong collaborative bridge between G8 and its technical partners based in Korea. He presently heads G8 Renewable Energy Korea (a wholly own subsidiary of G8 based in Seoul) to expand on wind power projects and floating solar. Today, Pascal applies his vast knowledge of project development and utility power to G8's offshore wind and floating solar projects across the region. His insights and experience hand in the power generation industry allowing G8 to apply industry leading approaches to large scale renewable energy projects not just in South Korea and also across the region.

Picture4 Jan-Peter Elffers (Development Director – Asia Offshore Wind)

Offshore Wind development veteran with 12 years experience in financing and development renewable energy assets in Europe. Jan Peter hold a degree in business economics from VU University Amsterdam. He managed the financial advisory mandates of Admiral De Ruyter Windpark Monarch, the two 700MW offshore wind projects that participated in Borssele offshore wind tenders in the Netherlands.

Jan Peter served as an Investment Director with Typhoon Offshore. As a senior finance executive. He was part of the core team responsible for structuring and negotiating the senior debt tranche. Including managing the technical interfaces and the finance documentations. Prior to Typhoon Offshore, Jan-Peter lead various offshore wind developments including Prinses Amalia (120MW). In 2020, Jan-Peter played a key role in the advisory fir CDPQ on a US$2.7billion of 605MW Greater Changhua 1 Offshore Windfarm in Taiwan from Orsted.

 

Picture5 Michael Van Der Heijden (Commercial Director – Asia Offshore Wind)

Over 20 years combined experience in banking and offshore wind development. Michael is a director and c0-founder of AMSCAP. Michael had served as Director for Merkur Offshore and was responsible for structuring and financing this EUR 1.8billion project. He also put together the equity consortium and negotiated the equity structure for Admiraal de Ruyter Windpark and Windpark Monarch, the two 700MW offshore wind projects that participated in the Borssele offshore wins tenders in the Netherlands.

Prior to AMSCAP, Michael was the Managing Director of Typhoon Offshore and was successful for the structuring of Gemini Windpark with EUR 2.8billion financing package. During his illustrative career in banking, Michael served key roles with Citi, Barclays Capital and Bank of America. Michael holds a degree in Monetary Economics from University of Groningen. In 2020, Michael played a key role in the advisory for CDPQ on a US$2.7billion of 605MW Greater Changhua 1 Offshore Windfarm in Taiwan from Orsted.
